My Story: Then and Now

painting of woman looking in mirror

Imagine if…

You woke up tomorrow and were able to realize all of your goals, even your financial ones and You could heal the wounds that hold you back from reaching your full potential

Each of us sees the world through a particular lens that is forged by our personal history, family, our culture and what we have been taught about power, wealth, success, gender, beauty, class, age, our relationship to our source and our relationships with each other. Guiding every step we take are the stories we tell ourselves about who we are, what we are able to achieve, and how much love, joy and money we deserve. These stories were set in place early in our lives.

This lens, self-concept or identity influences and shapes our experience of life in very profound ways. It informs our expectations including what we feel we deserve to have or not and who we allow ourselves to become. It is the underlying filter by which we respond to and experience our lives.

If we can become conscious of and name these limiting beliefs and old stories we can begin to understand the ways in which we have been holding ourselves back from achieving our goals and experiencing the abundance we desire in all areas of our lives including our ability to manifest financial success.

In addition, the way we were raised may have left us feeling like we don’t fit in and aren’t deserving of having a life of abundance and joy. We might have been taught that life is a struggle.

So, the question is can you choose a new lens? Can you rewrite the story you tell yourself and live your life by?

Yes, you can:

You have the ability to rewrite your story and change the way you see yourself and the way you relate to others and the world. Once you have identified the story you have been living by you can then break free from the hold it has on you and identify a deeper truth about who you really are and what is possible. You can create a new identity and develop the missing skills and capacities that allow you to transform yourself and your life.

So, why aren’t you raking in the dough, getting that raise, attracting a ton of new clients and managing your money well?

You haven’t rewritten the story of who you are and given yourself permission to thrive and succeed. You haven’t uncovered and dealt with the beliefs from your past that are getting in the way.

But you can change that now.

So, here’s how it works…

My Story: Then and Now is a two day workshop to help you identify the lens you have been seeing life through. You’ll create a picture book that represents it.  Then we will either alter that lens or destroy it leaving space to create a new way of seeing the world that will allow you to experience more joy, love and abundance.

Session #1

We will identify the ways you relate to the world, other people, work, love and money. Through exercises, writing, image making and ritual we will name the lens you have been seeing the world and yourself through and uncover the reasons that you needed that identity in the past. We will see how it now is getting in your way of realizing your dreams. We will make a book that expresses this old version of yourself and then destroy it so it no longer has a hold on you.

Session #2

We will create a new book and lens that represents who you would like to be. Actually, who you are already but haven’t been able to see until now. You will discover new ways of seeing yourself and new practices that will help you be more open to  opportunities, love, joy and abundance. This book you will keep and revisit regularly to remind yourself of the person you are now who allows in an abundance of love, happiness and all manor of support which includes how much money you are comfortable receiving.

The course uses your creative expression, imagination, intuition, the knowledge stored in your body, your inner guidance system and a little magic to create a new you.

When you use all of these abilities you start living life aligned with who you really are, a co-creator of your life who fearlessly overcomes challenges and is able to bring your gifts to the world and be well compensated for them.

You don’t need to have artistic ability or be a writer to complete this work. You just need to be willing to trust me to guide you through the process and commit to doing the work. I will be there to support you through every step and answer every question you have.

The workshop begins right after you enroll so enroll early. You will receive a list of the supplies you will need and a handout to help you start to identify your particular lens shortly after you sign up. The earlier you commit the more time you will have to complete the exercises in the handout.

Sheryl Kosovski

Artist

Money and Business Coach.

I think of myself more as a self-love coach than as a money coach. I help my clients see their value, so they come to believe they are worthy of more. Sure, I also teach them to make spending plans and how to get out of debt and save. More importantly, I help them to see that by taking care of their money they can better take care of themselves and the people they love.

Self-love? What does that have to do with managing money and financial success, you may ask?

Well, everything.

We worked with Sheryl during a time of many transitions: Dane was finishing grad school and getting ready to launch his career as a teacher, and we were planning to get married in a few months. We had been living together for several years but we had not combined our finances, and we needed to figure out how to do so. Sheryl helped us in a number of important ways: we figured out how to create one budget for the two of us, how to manage our debt and keep out of trouble with borrowing, and, perhaps most importantly, what each of us was bringing to the marriage when it comes to history with money and feelings about getting, spending, and saving it.

A year and a half later, we are collaborating beautifully on our budget, have no credit card debt, and have been able to start saving toward the mutual goals we identified with Sheryl. We are so grateful we had the opportunity to learn from her!

I had the pleasure of attending the financial class offered to staff members by my company this past spring offered by Sheryl Kosovski.  I found Sheryl’s class to be an invaluable support in becoming more aware of my finances, planning for my future, and improving my financial health. I feel very grateful that my agency gave me the opportunity to take this course and highly recommend it to anyone looking to better understand and manage their finances.

Prior to the class beginning, I would often avoid thinking about or looking at my finances because it was anxiety-provoking for me. This was not simply a budgeting and tracking course, but so much more. I now have a budget and realistically plan for my future. I am much more aware of my finances and where my money is going, which has greatly decreased my anxiety surrounding my finances. I have also learned a great deal about myself, my relationship with money, my sense of value, and how I would like to be living my future. I appreciate the opportunity to have been able to take this course and work directly with Sheryl. I think this course, and her other services, are vital resources for anyone, particularly those who are working with limited financial resources.

At the ripe old, but healthy ages of 85 & 88, we suddenly realized we were outliving our Money. As we were well into our retirement years, my wife and I were getting increasingly concerned about whether our savings and investments would see us through the rest of our lives and our grown children were becoming very concerned about us as well. We had no idea how to measure our current spending against our long-term needs.

Sheryl helped us focus on the problem and gave us tools to budget and monitor our expenses.  I can honestly say that this is the first time that either of us has learned to Budget. She is teaching us to live within our boundaries.  Sheryl is easy to work with and has substantially lifted our burden of uncertainty.

“I have been working with Sheryl for over 3 years now. Prior to working with her, I did not understand the value of financial planning and monthly budgeting. The software program she typically uses Money Minder is very user friendly. Sheryl is very compassionate and understanding of one’s needs. She has gone above and beyond in helping me get my finances in check. I highly recommend her to anyone looking to improve their financial health!”

“I met Sheryl quite a few years ago, somewhere between 55 and 60 years old. Sheryl offered financial literacy—a new concept to me. We moved through obstacles and highs as well as lows (unemployment). It has been a journey and Sheryl provided a guiding light, a steady force, and a compassionate heart. Sheryl offers insights and provides resources. She encourages self-discovery while constantly making available concrete tools such as a “budget-like” website to use and books that tend to empower, rather than shame.”
